THETASAT is a newly developed innovative platform for low earth orbit satellites. The structure is based on the well known TUBSAT-design of Prof. Udo Renner, developed at the “Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrt” of the Technical University Berlin.
ACS is an Attitude Control System for low earth orbit satellites. The design is based on the innovative developments of Prof. Udo Renner, “Institut für Luft- und Raumfahrt” of the Technical University Berlin, and integrated in the well known TUBSAT satellites.
The Power Module consists on a Li-Ion Battery controlled by a Power Control Unit PCU. The battery is based on the latest technology of Li-Ion cells from the first class supplier SAFT, which were developed for the ESA project PROBA and tailored to the special requirements of THETASAT for LEO satellites.
The Solar Panels consists on solar cells from a first class supplier with a long space heritage. It can be equipped either with silicon cells or with GaAs solar cells according to the demands of the application.
The new On Board Data Handling system is designed according to the more of 20 years of experience of Prof. Renner, TU Berlin, with the space heritage of seven TUBSAT in orbit. The design is based on the main principle KISS, Keep It Simple Smart.
LISA II is a very high-resolution, 3 CCD multispectral 16-bit trilinear line camera system, designed for scientific imaging scanning in space applications. The square pixel with the size of 9ìm x 9ìm and the high image resolution of 3x 3x 8002 pixel is optimally qualified for all applications of space imaging scanning in particular for high ground resolution, multispectral earth analysis with up to nine spectral bands.
THETA SYSTEM developed and manufactured a space-proof CCD camera system for multispectral image capturing called MIA – Multispectral Imaging Apperatus. It is based on three spaceCam 1003 which is a a high sensitivity, high-resolution 16-bit camera system and consists up to 6 spectral bands in the wavelength region of Blue, Green, Red and Near Infrared.
Our starCam is a Star Tracker Module, which consists out of a high sensitive spaceCam s1450, a microcontrolller unit to detect extract the 30 brightest stars and a software with an intelligent star identification algorithm for the determination of the satellites position.
The VideoCam consists on modules, which were integrated as payload on LAPAN-TUBSAT and provide good video images since many years of operation with no problems. The system consists on a commercial 3CCD camera, connected to a mirror telescope with a focal length of 1000mm. The image above shows the video camera delivered from prof.
